First off, we have a pretty (ok, ok, it's not THAT pretty) diagram I put together in OpenOffice Draw this evening (click image for full size).



This should give you a good overview of my LAN.

Now I'll explain it room by room.

Basement

Firewall:
Gentoo Firewall/Router/Game Server – connected to cable modem and GS108T

Netgear GS108T:
Central Network Switch - 8 port gigabit smart switch

Legion:
Gentoo KVM Virtual Machine Server Hosting 6 Vms – connected to GS108T

Virtual Machines on Legion
1. Techiem2:
Gentoo Main network server VM – HTTP, IRC, Bitlbee, IMAP, etc.

2. Cthulhu:
Gentoo File Server/Print Server/Torrent Client

3. Win7-64:
Windows 7 64bit VM for reference (rarely running)

4. Win2kPro:
Windows 2000 Pro VM running ProgressQuest. :P

5. Lernaean-Hydra:
Debian Lenny LTSP Server

6. Mythmaster:
Funtoo VM currently used for web development - I tried (unsuccessfully) to get MythTV working on it.

Melissa Room

Melissa:
Melissa's XP Pro Laptop

Cisco 1548:
8 port 10/100 switch connected to GS108T

Brother Printer:
Brother MFC5440CN Network All in One – connected to Cisco 1548


Study

Encore 5 port:
5 port 10/100 switch connected to GS108T

Mom:
Mom's box – running Debian Lenny – connected to Encore

Dad:
Dad's box – running XP Pro and sharing the HP Printer – connected to Encore

HP Printer:
HP Deskjet 932C – Connected to Dad


Mark II Room

D-Link DGS-2208:
8 port gigabit switch connected to GS108T

SMC 108DT:
8 port 10/100 switch connected to DGS-2208 – for connecting client computers at my client work area in the room

HDHomeRun:
Silicondust HDHomeRun Dual Digital Tuner – connected to DGS-2208

AsusWR:
Asus WL-500G Deluxe Wireless router running dd-wrt – connected to GS108T

Serenity:
My Personal machine running Funtoo 64 bit – connected to GS108T

Escape-Pod:
My Personal laptop running Gentoo - ZaReason UltraLap SR

Lexx:
My OpenMoko Neo Freerunner Cell Phone/GPS/WiFi/etc. - currently running the latest SHR release
