So you may be wondering what my Lair looks like these days.
Well, here is a brief tour.

Here you see the front of my room.
In the top corners are the front speakers of my sound system.
On the right wall is a collection of jackets, hats, etc.
On the door is a hanger with my dress shirts and evil ties.
On the left wall you see the printout of
MegaTokyo Strip 650 (one of my all time favorite strips) that a friend printed for me on his DesignJet.
You also see the first desk in the room.
This desk holds my CD/DVD Collection (yes, about half of my DVD collection is anime), various device chargers, and random stuff I usually take out with me (keys, phone, etc.).
This desk also holds the monitor, keyboard, and mouse that are connected to a 4-port KVM switch that I use to work on customer computers.

Here you can see my
MegaTokyo N173Z Poster (signed by Piro himself), a plaque with Isaiah 40:31, the KVM switch and cables, and my workbench computer.
The workbench computers is currently primarily being used as a
MythTV box, but will also be used for testing and dbanning hard disks and doing other such hardware testing.
On top of the workbench computer is a box of business cards, a headset for testing customer computers, an 8-port network switch to connect customer computers to, and a variety of utility floppy disks.

Here you can see the rest of the wall.
The shelves hold various decorations and an air filter.
The desk shelf under the workbench computer hold various tools for easy access.
You can also see my primary desk now.

Here is the middle and back of the room.
The rear speakers for my sound system are in the top corners.
Under them is a set of posters created for me by my family using pictures my brother took on a family trip I was not on.
The back desk holds my clock, phone, and various books and office supplies.
The shelf on that desk holds various exercise tools, gadgets, and my wooden practice sword (all of which I should use more often....).
You can also see my bed (yes, I do occasionally sleep).

Here you can see my bed and the door behind it going to the kitchen (this room was originally designed to be a study).
The door is blocked on both sides now.
The wall clock is atomic.
The photo on the wall is a B1 bomber.
The top of my dresser contains my knife collection, a basket of (mostly computer) screws, and various other decorations and such.

Now you see my closet.
It contains clothes, my camera gear, tools, gaming equipment, files, various disks, and a few odd decorations and such.

Now we get to my actual work area.
My main desk holds one of my monitors, my keyboard and mouse, my (rarely used) graphics tablet, and my (also rarely used) joystick.
The desk next to it holds my secondary monitor.
It also holds the monitor, keyboard, and mouse that are used with a 2-port KVM switch connected to the workbench computer and to my laptop (which is setup here).
There are various other items on the desk that I will show shortly.
Under that desk is my equipment rack, a stool holding my scanner, and the subwoofers for my sound system.
The sound system consists of a 5.1 surround set linked with a 4.1 surround set to give me very nice and powerful sound for the rare occasion everyone is out of the house so I can turn it on. :P

Here is the rack itself.
The components from the bottom up are my Cyberpower CPS1500AVR 1500VA UPS, my Tripp-Lite 12 port (10 back and 2 front - this is extremely useful) surge protector, my main computer with a couple air filters to help keep the dust and dog hair out, and my mixer that is used to feed sound from the various computers to my headphones.
On the right side of the rack you can see my
Light Mine from ThinkGeek.

Here is the rest of the stuff on the top of the desk.
On the right you have the base for my phone.
Next to it is a portable hard disk that is connected to the laptop.
This disk holds all my Windows games and my Linux Wine games.
On the back of the desk you can see the 2-port KVM switch, my 4-port A/V switchbox that is connected to the workbench machine and is used to view my various cameras and other video devices such as the Atari Keychain you see next to it, my battery charger and spare batteries, a USB hub connected to my machine, and my
HDHomeRun digital network dual TV tuner.
On the wall is my Asus wireless router running DD-WRT and my D-Link 8-port Gigabit network switch to connect the various devices that do not have dedicated lines running to the basement.
That concludes this fairly brief tour of The Lair.
I hope you enjoyed it.
